File Creation Guide
Adobe Illustrator CS

Before creating any objects in Adobe Illustrator go to Document Setup… and set the output resolution and the printing output quality as below.

Stroke Width
Be sure to give paths a stroke width, use 0.3 pt. as a minimum stroke width. Strokes will display on screen and may even print on a desktop printer if the fill option is selected and the stroke option is not. However, the stroke will not be visible when RIPed for printing at 2540 dpi.
Placing Images
When placing images into Illustrator, use only EPS or TIF files. All placed image files must be submitted with the Illustrator file.
When placing an Illustrator file into another application save the Illustrator file as EPS. Embedding fonts is okay.
Using the Blend Tool
This only applies to Illustrator 6. When creating a custom blend, it is important to create a NEW blend with an original name. Do not edit a default blend, because when we open the file, the blend may revert to the original color settings of the default blend. FONTS folder
To eliminate any possibility of a missing or defective font ruining a job, we suggest you select all fonts and Convert To Paths. Once fonts are converted to paths, the text cannot be edited, so save a copy of the original file. If you convert all fonts to outlines, you do not need to include fonts with your order. If you do not Convert To Paths, please provide a folder named FONTS. Place all the fonts used into the FONTS folder.
How To Make A High Resoloution .TIF File
From An Adobe Illustrator File

This only works if you have Photoshop. Start Photoshop and "Open..." the Illustrator File. This also works with .PDF, InDesign and .EPS files.
For InDesign use File> Export... as a .PDF or .EPS file.

You will see a window that looks like this. Set the "Resolution:" to 800 pixels/inch. HOTGLOSS Printing will accept up to 1200 pixels/inch.

When Saving the file use .JPG set to maximum quality to minimize file size.
